This is a visual exhibition of the artworks created by Newport youngsters.
Now in its 4th year, the SPARK project continues to work with over 700 pupils from six Newport Primary Schools: Alway, Millbrook, Pillgwenlly, Ringland and Somerton and Duffryn. Schools exhibit their visual arts in the gallery and showcase an exciting assortment of drumming, dance and drama performances in the theatre. This year's celebratory events look set to be an artistic triumph of sound and vision set around the theme of Newport in the World, "Our Heritage".
SPARK is Provident Financial's flagship education programme taking place across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Of the eight theatres involved, The Riverfront is the only theatre in Wales engaging children in exciting visual and performance opportunities throughout the year.

Boasting a finely controlled central performance from Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela, this old-fashioned crowd-pleaser is both a rousing sports movie and a testament to the nobility of Mandela. Newly sworn in as South Africa's first black president, he is portrayed not as a saintly figure but as a smart operator who believes that forgiveness is key to the country's progress. The film shows how he used the 1995 Rugby World Cup to unite the black and white populations in the aftermath of apartheid. The bone-crunching finale of the World Cup final is brilliantly shot and cut and will move even the hardest of hearts.
