Bulky item collections

However if the Community Furniture shop cannot take furniture off your hands please do not flytip or litter the streets with your unwanted things. The council will also collect bulky items for varying prices. A sink can be collected for as little as £3, a bath for £6 while fridges or freezers are £10 each.

Extra bags of rubbish

If you have bags of non-recyclables that cannot fit in your bin, you can either take them to the Civic Amenity site by car, or request a special collection. Please check our recycling list first in case there is anything you weren’t aware could be recycled.

The council will pick up your rubbish when they are next in your area, usually within 7 days, for a charge, depending on how much rubbish there is to be collected.

Recycling bulky items

Some bigger items could be recycled. Wastesavers Community Furniture shop will collect items for free, if they are usable, including beds, sofas, chairs, wardrobes, tables and some crockery.

If you know you’re going to have extra rubbish or big items that you have to throw away, please ring the council on (01633) 656656 to arrange for a special collection, giving a week’s notice if possible, so your unwanted things don’t cause you or your neighbours any problems.
