Food Waste
Food waste makes up 39 percent of the rubbish left in bins and adds up to 14,000 tonnes of waste a year which goes to landfill.
Recycling food waste helps the council to meet recycling targets and helps reduce the harmful landfill gases which are produced when food is buried in landfill.
Food waste is collected free by Wastesavers using specialised collection vehicles at the same time the blue and green recycling boxes are emptied.
