Transporter Bridge re-opens

The Transporter Bridge re-opens Friday 30 July

Work to refurbish the Transporter Bridge is now complete and the historic bridge re-opens with a ceremony at 10.30am on Friday 30th July 2010.

Refurbishment has included the replacement of rails and re-painting.

100 years of history

Newport Transporter Bridge was 100 years old on September 12th 2006 and a special 100th birthday exhibition was held at Newport Museum & Art Gallery to mark the occasion.
