Knotweed is subject to control under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and must be disposed of under controlled conditions.

Anyone wishing to treat and dispose of knotweed should seek assistance from specialist companies (see Yellow Pages), as Newport City Council does not provide any means of treatment or facilities for the disposal of this material.
