The Newport Medieval Ship Project can offer a fixed term, ten week position to an archaeologist with environmental processing experience, to run a short project overseeing the sieving and sorting of the environmental material recovered during the excavation of the Newport Medieval Ship. Initial sample sieving has produced some exciting finds, and the processing of the remaining material is likely to be interesting and rewarding. The project will involve a range of volunteers and past experience of working with and managing volunteers will be an advantage. A desire to communicate archaeology to the public will be one of your key drivers. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate good communication skills. This post is offered on a fixed term basis and will be for a period of 10 weeks from appointment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. | ||
