This post offers a considerable opportunity for personal development, as the successful candidate will be embarking on the conservation of one of the most significant archaeological maritime finds of recent years in Europe. The Museums & Heritage Service is looking for a Conservator who has the confidence to meet the challenge this opportunity presents. You will have experience of working with wet archaeological finds, preferably with experience of treating water logged wood. However, we also see this as a development post, giving the right person the opportunity to develop their skills as the project progresses. The ability to communicate the work being carried out to a wide audience will be an essential skill. This post will be offered on a fixed term basis of 2 years to complete the conservation project This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. | ||
