Newport City Council grants

The following grants, generally up to £5000, are applicable to businesses in all sectors:

Information & Communication Technology Grant	Aimed at encouraging small businesses to use IT as a means of developing their business. Available to businesses with up to 50 employees.
Commercial & Industrial Improvement Area Grant	For property refurbishment and site improvement. Available to all businesses in six defined areas of Newport.
Start-Up Rent Subsidy	Intended to help individuals with the cost of leasing business premises for the first time. Available to sole traders, partnerships or Limited Companies.

Manufacturing and related sectors

City Council grants available for businesses in the manufacturing and related sectors:

Economic Development Grant	Support capital expenditure on plant and equipment. Available to businesses with up to 250 employees.
Business Planning Grant	Assists towards the preparation of a business plan to support applications to the National Assembly. Available to businesses with up to 250 employees.
New Technology Training Grant	Helps small businesses with the cost of staff training on new technology. Available to businesses with up to 10 employees.
Business Security Grant	Helps businesses with growing cost of adequate security measures. Available to businesses with up to 25 employees.
