Health and Social Care

We will endeavour to respond to any form of communication within 5 working days

Newport City Council’s Social Services offers support to all kinds of people in a wide range of circumstances. Everyone can obtain information and advice from us, and many people receive further help.

We help to look after and protect vulnerable elderly people, children in need, people with disabilities, carers of all ages, people with learning disabilities, mental health problems and those with alcohol and drug problems.

We also work closely with the police and other agencies to protect people from harm.

For further information, please read our leaflets:

An Introduction to Adult Social Services (pdf)

A Guide to Services for Children & Families (pdf)

New!

Pay your Non-Residential care charges online…

A new way of reporting on Social Services has been introduced in Wales that gives residents the chance to voice their opinions about the effectiveness of the care services provided to them. Please visit our Annual Report of the Director of Social Services webpage for further information.
