If a dog is picked up on a second occasion, an owner may be prosecuted for allowing their dog to stray and will have to pay a fine as well as kennel costs.

Found:

The Council’s dog wardens will collect stray dogs from properties from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and transport them to Coronation Kennels – see opening times below.

After 5:00 pm, if possible, a stray dog should be kept until the following morning. If not, anyone willing to do so, can take the dog to Summerhill Vets. Any charges plus other costs will be incurred by the owner, should they come forward. Any dog sold from the kennels will be micro-chipped.
